Acceptable Use Policy

By registering as a user you declare that you have read, understood and will abide by the following conditions of use:

  1. You will only use the WORM Portal server to perform work, or transmit or store data consistent with scientific research and education.

  2. You will not use the WORM Portal server for commercial purposes, or for financial gain (e.g. cryptocurrency mining is not allowed).

  3. You will acknowledge use of the WORM Portal, supported by National Science Foundation award number EAR-1949030, in manuscripts submitted for publication. In addition, you are expected to acknowledge use of the specific resource(s) utilized (See How to Acknowledge WORM).

  4. You will not use the WORM Portal server for unlawful purposes or attempt to breach or circumvent any administrative or security controls.

  5. You will protect your access credentials (e.g. your GitLab password) and will not knowingly allow any other person to impersonate your WORM Portal user identity.

  6. You will have only one WORM Portal user account.

  7. You shall immediately report any known or suspected security breach or misuse of the WORM Portal or access credentials to server administrators (contact email: geopiglab@gmail.com).

  8. You use the WORM Portal server at your own risk. There is no guarantee that the WORM Portal server will be available at any time or that their integrity or confidentiality will be preserved or that they will suit any purpose, or that data will never be lost or corrupted. Users are responsible for backing up critical data.

  9. You agree that logged information, including personal data provided by you for registration purposes, may be used for administrative, operational, monitoring and security purposes.

  10. You agree that WORM Portal server administrators are entitled to regulate, suspend or terminate your access without prior notice and without compensation and you shall immediately comply with their instructions.

  11. If you violate these rules, you may be liable for the consequences, which may include your account being suspended or deleted and a report being made to your home organisation or to law enforcement.
